Promoting Women in Space

Women in Space 2021 highlights the achievements of women researchers and industry professionals, discusses challenges faced in the field, and offers opportunities for mentoring, recruiting, networking, and more. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, our event this year is virtual and will be taking place during World Space Week as a series of keynote speakers, panels, and networking events. We aim to return to an in-person format in 2022 with programming like we’ve had in previous years, so stay tuned and we hope to see you there!

We welcome cis and trans women, as well as non-binary people who are comfortable in a space that centres the experience of women.

We encourage geologists, geophysicists, engineers, geographers, astrobiologists, astronomers, social scientists, space policy experts, and any other people of all genders working in or researching a space-related field to attend and join in on the discussion.

Sometimes what we need in life is a little boost—a firm foothold and a helping hand that gets us to the next step. When we put our heads together and collaborate, we multiply our capacity to tackle new challenges and find solutions. Aim high. Dream big. PER ASPERA AS ASTRA—through hardship to the stars. If you reach beyond what you think is possible, you’ll find the results are infinitely rewarding.
— Julie Payette, Astronaut and Governor General of Canada
